Handmade Irish Peat Incense Bulk Wee Bits Pack - 90g

Over 45 hours of Irish peat incense burn time.

Includes 90g of smaller, solid sods designed to burn easily and slowly, helping to fill your home with the original peat smell of an Irish cottage. These incense sods are made as exact miniature replicas of a real turf sod. Sadly, selling turf in Ireland for use as fuel has been banned, and this once-distinct aroma, once smelled throughout the country, will diminish over time. Keep the scent and spirit alive in your own home.

Produced on our historic farmland in Silverbridge in the heart of South Armagh, you can recreate the smell of rural Ireland in your own home without even owning a fireplace. Place the incense turf sods on the slate burner and ignite them to be transported back to old Irish cottages, where warmth and cooking were provided by the open fire and sods of turf burning within. This incense has been specially designed to be easy to ignite, with a lasting smoulder that will fill the room with the distinctive smell of an open turf fire.

Each turf sod should burn anywhere from 10-40 minutes, with the pack offering over 45 hours of burn time in total. All incense sods are made from real turf, reconstituted to burn well. Each small batch is made by hand and with love in County Armagh ❤️

Perfect Wee Bits for my Burner

These wee pieces are super for trying out the incense. I would love to have an open fire or wood stove, alas I cannot, a biofuel fire makes the perfect alternative, but lacks the smell of a real fire. As I light one and the smoke begins to curl slowly upwards my mind is transported to a thick stone walled cottage where my grandparents lived.
Don't be fooled by smelling the packet and assume (like me) there will be very little turfiness! When lit these great miniature turf sods give the exact, very distinctive smell of a peat fire... all I need now is a wood wick candle for the auditory element (the snap and crackle from burning wood) an Islay whisky in my hand and I'll be contented!

All around awesome product that evokes many a happy memory getting cosy by my Granny's fireplace. 😊💜
